Vehicle monitoring devices

Most major insurers offer programs where in return for some sort of premium discount, the insured drives around with a device in the on-board diagostic (OBD) port of the vehicle. Technology that does something similar based on mobile phones also exists. While the number of autos equipped with such devices is growing, it is still a small portion of the overall autos being driven.
