Michigan auto insurance is quite different from auto insurance in other states, and provides more coverage in return for higher premiums. In particular, mandatory unlimited PIP coverage and property protection insurance (property damage liability with a large limit) differentiate it from other states, with the cost of the former showing up in both premiums and fees charged.
